Alparslan Nas is Professor of Advertising at Marmara University's Faculty of Communication. He holds BA and MA degrees in Cultural Studies from Sabancı University and a PhD in Advertising from Marmara University. His research interests include critical advertising studies, gender and media, cultural studies, media sociology, and brand activism. His work examines how advertising and popular media reproduce — and sometimes contest — relations of gender, class, ideology, and power. Through CultPost, he adapts critical theory for broader audiences.
